Located in the south of the picturesque Eden Valley and just off the A66, lies the town of Brough. Brough is well known for its ruined 12th Century castle, set in wild moorland on the site of the Roman fort Verterae. Restored by Lady Anne Clifford in the 17th Century, the castle provides magnificent views of the Pennines and is evidence of times when this was the English/Scottish border.
