A range of equestrian and shooting activities are available 3 miles across the Matterdale Valley. Two golf courses are nearby in Keswick and Penrith. Watersports and fishing are available on and around Ullswater and can be arranged locally. Packed lunches can be arranged for daywalks and other activities, giving full flexibility for the day. Wholesome, homemade evening meals can be arranged in the autumn and winter months, as well as for families or for special occasions, but need to be prebooked. Please write/call for details. Walkers, cyclists and children all ages are very welcome. . Children welcome from any age.

• Flexible room sleeps 2
• An unusual room that has two floor levels. On the ground floor is the toilet and bedroom, which can have twin beds or a superking size double bed. Upstairs is a lovely sitting area with a view to Blencathra as well as the bathroom.
  The bath is a purpose made shower bath, giving the possibility for both a proper bath and a proper shower.
  The sitting area has television and DVD.
  Access to minifridge in adjacent breakfast room.

• Ground floor with old beams and direct access to private patio. The patio is very sheltered, has good sunlight and is equipped with table and chairs - a lovely place to relax, weather permitting.

A big sofabed provides either a third bed or a very comfortable sitting area. It is possible to have a cot in this room as well as a third person. For bigger families or a group of friends, Helvellyn can be used with Matterdale, since they are only separated with a small, private vestibule.
  The en suite bathroom has a purpose made shower bath, giving the possibility for both a proper bath and a proper shower.
  The room has television and DVD.
  There is an external entrance to the breakfast room.

  There is an external entrance to the breakfast room.
  This room is for an occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children. We cannot accept 3 or 4 adults in this room.
