Hollin View is a detached 17thC Lakeland cottage accommodating 6 people in 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 twin. It has a first-floor bathroom and a ground-floor WC. At the front of the cottage is off-road parking for 2 cars and at the back there is a patio area with Howes Beck close by. The cottage is furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard. Hollin View is situated in the hamlet of Bampton, set in the picturesque Lowther valley, which leads up to the mountain ranges around Haweswater. Bampton is fortunate in having a well-known centrury-old inn and a post office/shop with tearoom. The Lowther Valley is an excellent place to sightsee and walk, from a relaxing stroll from the doorstep to the challenging heights of High Street. Haweswater is 2 miles away with its dam and the drowned village of Mardale. If you enjoy wildlife spotting there is plenty to see from the golden eagle at Haweswater to the red squirrels that are commonly seen in the village. Nearby visitor attractions include Lowther Castle and bird of prey centre, Rheged, Ullswater, Ostrich World and many more.

There is an open-air pool at Shap, 4 miles. A leisure centre at Penrith, 10 miles. A children's play area in Bampton near the school. We have a patio area with picnic table. Children welcome from any age.

Leave M6 at jct 39 and follow signs for Shap. Drive through Shap village and approximately 200 metres after the Bulls Head pub turn left signposted Bampton. Stay on this road for approximately 3 miles continuing through Bampton Grange, over the bridge then bear sharp right on past the village hall into Bampton. Hollin View is directly in front of you at the T-junction opposite the post office.
