Details
Mike and Gill Dixon offer their guests a truly local welcome to Ambleside, in the beautiful Lake District. Being Ambleside born and bred and proud of it, Mike is always pleased to give visitors the benefit of his expert local knowledge to help make the very most of a Lake District holiday.
The Howes welcomes children, dogs and walkers and there is space for off-road parking. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac with few cars and no traffic noise. We are a non-smoking house.
The Howes is modern and very well appointed. There is private parking, a lovely terraced garden with fine views, with many walks beginning right from the door. Close by is the well-known Stock Ghyll park, a delightful wooded ravine topped by a beautiful waterfall - just right for an early morning stroll. Out over the treetops views extend to the Fairfield Horsehoe and the Langdale Pikes beyond, while Wansfell (1500 ft) rises behind.
