Moresby Hall is one of Cumbria's most historic homes. A Grade I Listed building circa 1620, offering stunning country guest house accommodation with many of the original features. This home has been described as 'One of the most important buildings in Cumbria' by English Heritage and 'totally unique and welcoming' by so many of our guests. Moresby Hall enjoys a semi-rural location but is close to Whitehaven, a Georgian market town within the Western Lake District.

The six individual bedrooms are all en-suite, beautifully appointed and superbly equipped. You will find soft fluffy towels and robes, top quality Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, a comprehensive beverage tray and the finest bed linens. Each room has the latest Pure-Fi express speaker dock for you to play & charge your i-pod / i-phone. Each bedroom has a digital flat screen LCD colour TV with integrated FreeView channels. All our rooms are individual in style with country house ambience and spacious proportions.

Our 4-poster rooms, Copeland, De Asby, Le Meschin and Egremount, have super-king carved wooden beds and hand made mattresses. Copeland has a Jacuzzi ® bath. De Asby has a hydro massage power shower and steam en suite. Le Meschin and Egremount have multi jet and waterfall double showers. TileVision Colour TV is en-suite in both Copeland and Le Meschin adding another luxurious touch.

The emphasis is on relaxation and genuine hospitality at this family home. There is an abundance of fresh flowers and great care has been taken with the furnishings and decor to ensure a pleasing ambience. In winter months you will enjoy our huge open fires and comfortable drawing room, perfect for pre-dinner drinks or to curl up with a good book. In Spring and Summer months our stunning Oak Orangerie is a quite place to relax.

Jane uses only the finest fresh produce for her renowned hearty breakfasts, imaginative dinners and buffets. Special diets can be catered for upon request. Moresby Hall is fully licensed and we have a selection of reasonably priced wines, beers and spirits.

Our stunning Fletcher suite has been renovated to the highest standard to offer superb conference or meeting room facilities for up to 36 guests. Variety of refreshment packages available for half day or full day. Our new oak orangerie was completed for corporate use, meetings, small weddings or guests to relax there. A srunning location adjacent to Moresby Hall, overlooking the lawns and walled gardens.

Moresby Hall is now licensed for civil marriages, partnership ceremonies, renewal of vows or naming ceremonies. Fletcher is a beautiful room for your special celebration up to 40 people. We offer a wonderful choice of menu ideas for a day time or evening reception.
