Moresby Hall is one of Cumbria's most historic homes. A Grade I Listed building circa 1620, offering stunning country guest house accommodation with many of the original features. This home has been described as 'one of the most important buildings in Cumbria' by English Heritage and 'totally unique and welcoming' by so many of our guests. Moresby Hall enjoys a semi-rural location but is close to Whitehaven, a Georgian market town within the Western Lake District.

The 4 spacious rooms are all en suite, beautifully appointed and superbly equipped. You will find plenty of soft fluffy towels, quality toiletries, a comprehensive beverage tray and the finest bed linens. Each bedroom has a well-stocked bar basket if you want an extra nightcap on retiring. Each room has a top of the range flat-screen multi-channel colour TV.

Our 2, 4-poster rooms, Copeland & De Asby, have super-king 7’ x 7’ carved wooden beds. Copeland has a jacuzzi bath and TileVision colour TV, en suite. De Asby has a hydro massage power shower and sauna en suite.

The emphasis is on relaxation and genuine hospitality at this family home. There is an abundance of fresh flowers and great care has been taken with the furnishings and decor to ensure a pleasing ambience. In winter months you will enjoy our huge open fires and comfortable drawing room, perfect for pre-dinner drinks or to curl up with a good book.

Jane uses only the finest fresh produce for her renowned hearty breakfasts, imaginative dinners and buffets. Special diets can be catered for upon request. Moresby Hall is fully licensed and we have a selection of reasonably priced wines, beers and spirits.

Our stunning Fletcher suite, 2006, has been renovated to the highest standard to offer superb conference or meeting room facilities for up to 36 guests. Variety of refreshment packages available for half day or full day. Our new oak orangerie was completed in 2008 for corporate use, meetings, small weddings or guests to relax there. A srunning location adjacent to Moresby Hall, overlooking the lawns and walled gardens.

Moresby Hall is now licensed for civil marriages, partnership ceremonies, renewal of vows or naming ceremonies. Fletcher is a beautiful room for your special celebration. We offer a wonderful choice of menu ideas for a day time or evening reception.
