Knipefold Barn is one of the South Lakes best kept secrets situated near Hawkshead and in the small hamlet of Knipefld, close to Outgate. Offering miles of views towards Hawkshead fells and surrounding countryside.

Converted in 2007 Knipefold Barn has been lovingly and sympathetically made into beautiful, hugely spacious accommodation for 5. No stone unturned, everything has been thought out down to the last detail. Entry to the barn is through unusual oak doors into a large hall with slate floor and under-floor heating, a large utility room with washer/dryer, wine cooler and plenty of storage space is also on this floor, as is the single bedroom. An oak staircase leads to the first floor with its 2 king-size double bedrooms, 1 en suite with hand washbasin, toilet and bath. The other bedroom en suite shower, washbasin and toilet. Also on this floor is a separate toilet and shower room. All the en suites have night-time lighting so you can find your way in the small hours. The top floor is huge and all open plan with a good-sized kitchen and breakfast bar, dining area and living area, retaining lots of original features and oak beams. The polished wood floors and high ceiling with skykights give a real feeling of space, while the Stressless leather furniture will keep you comfy while looking at the view. The original beams span this room so some of our taller guests may have to duck occassionally or risk a sore head.

At this classic upside down house the views are fantastic, the other great thing about this house is location, although only 5 minutes from Hawkshead and about 10 minutes from Coniston the only reason most people come down the lane is if they are lost, the most common traffic here is tractors and horses.
