Details

We are situated on the outskirts of Grasmere, but within easy walking distance of the Village, giving you the best of all worlds; bustling village activities and facilities together with quiet Grasmere bed and breakfast accommodation backing onto open fields with a profusion of natural wildlife coming into our garden, including, red squirrels, badgers, deer, woodpeckers, nuthatches and many other birds.

Grasmere is in the heart of the English Lake District and will forever be associated with William Wordsworth, whose home Dove Cottage, together with its museum, is very close by. Another of his homes, Rydal Mount is just 2 miles away.

Grasmere is set in a valley surrounded by mountains and close to Grasmere Lake. There are shops, cafes, restaurants and a garden centre in the village, and of course the famous Gingerbread shop, which was once the village school. The ancient parish church of St. Oswald, containing Wordsworth’s grave, in the centre of the village is well worth a visit. Grasmere and the whole of the Lake District can be enjoyed at any time of the year, with the colours varying with the season.

Grasmere is an ideal spot for touring all areas of the Lake District by car, being only 4 miles from Ambleside, 8 miles from Windermere and 12 miles from Keswick, all within easy driving distance, we have various guide maps available, on request. There are numerous local walks of varying difficulty starting from our front door again maps available.

Treat yourself to a well earned rest at our Lake District bed and breakfast in Grasmere.
