Whether it's the friendly and cheerful service, the excellent breakfasts or the homely and welcoming rooms, you will find that The Old Court House provides just the relaxing environment you are looking for. Situated in Bowness, in a very convenient location, The Old Court House is loved by our guests young and old. Shops, restaurants & cinema 1 minute walk, with the lake & boats about 5 minutes walk. Woodland walks right from the doorstep. The famous Beatrix Potter visitor centre is within 2 minutes walk. The house was built in 1843 as the courthouse and police station for Windermere & Bowness. Several interesting features remain as evidence of its history. Although you will find the full English breakfast delicious, freshly cooked from the finest local produce, we also offer cereals, fresh fruit basket and vegetarian breakfasts. All 6 bedrooms are en suite, have tasteful décor and attractive furnishings, colour TV, complimentary tea & coffee trays, shampoo, moisturisers, shower gel, hairdryers etc. Lovely 4-poster rooms.
