School & Youth at Predator ExperienceSchool & Youth at Predator Experience

Experiential learning is a vital part of the development of our youth. We offer a range of national curriculum, key stage based activities for all age groups and backgrounds. These include bird of prey handling with our reliable experienced bird team, environmental awareness, for example animal tracking skills and mini beast hunt, conservation projects, and educational games based around animal nature. Promoting learning through play, participation is the name of the game.

Our challenges are designed to fit together to create a whole learning experience, whether the activities are purely with Predator Experience, or you have chosen to enhance your day with an activity provided by our partners YMCA Lakeside.

We are happy to visit your school with key stage related talks including demonstration of birds of prey, ferrets and reptiles. Your visit will also include activities, bird of prey related games and a flying display.

Risk assessments are available with booking conformation.

From Kendal, follow the A591 towards the M6. Bear left towards the A590. At the Brettagh Holt roundabout take the third exit continuing on the A590. At the Meathop roundabout take the second exit continuing on the A590. Take a left turning marked Ayside/High Newton and travel towards the village.

From Windermere, travel south towards Newby Bridge on the A592. At the Newby Bridge Roundabout take the first exit towards Kendal. After approximately 1.5 miles turn left at the junction marked Ayside/High Newton. At the road end turn left and travel under the road bridge. Turn left and travel towards the village.

How to find Barn Close, travel into the village. After passing only a couple of houses take a left turn into a small lane marked by a no through road sign and a red post box. It is an easy turning to miss as it is slightly set back. If you have dropped down through the village and passed several houses on each side then you have gone to far and need to come back. Travel up the no through road to the end. Barn Close is a cream barn on the side of the road next to a Cherry Tree set in an island. At this Cherry Tree turn right and travel up the track between the houses. At the end of the track there is a field opening straight in front of you. Please pull into the field and park by the wall near the entrance.
