Secrets of the Furness Fells at Coniston Tourist Information Centre
Learn how man has changed the landscape on this guided linear walk from Coniston to Hawkshead via Tarn Hows and how it has inspired the work of Ruskin, Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and many others. Enjoy spectacular views of the central fells, Tarn Hows, the Coniston and Esthwaite valleys and hear about some environmental issues relevant to this sensitive landscape.
Lunch opportunity at Tarn Hows to sample freshly-grilled, locally-grown beef and lamb from Yew Tree Farm (additional cost). The walk is timed to coincide with Stagecoach bus services to and from Coniston and Hawkshead.
Depart Coniston TIC at 10.30.
Return from Hawkshead on the Stagecoach bus at 17.00.
Prices
£12.50 per adult, £6.25 per child.
Advance booking via Coniston Tourist Information Centre is essential.
