Scrumptious Scone Making Workshop at Quirky Workshops @ Greystoke Cycle Cafe

Gillian Harris shares with us her many hints and tips gleened from a lifetime of baking.

This is a very hands-on cookery day experimenting with different mixes and recipes, even the ladies taking the class use different recipes, do we use eggs, marg, butter, baking powder? And how do these ingredients change the basic scone. Then moving onto savoury as well as sweet and then the fun begins.

We will be working with an Aga and a conventional oven. There should be plenty to take home at the end of the day. Please bring a pinny, a mixing bowl and a container for all your scones to take home and impress friends and family.
NB The course on Wed 29th May is a family friendly day.

Notes	The Cycle Cafe is a family-run tea garden with unusual opening times. Fri 12.00 to 18.00. Sat 10.00 to 18.00 and the second Sun of the month 10.00 to 18.00. We will serve any cyclists at other times with whatever we have, if of course we are about and available. Seasonal opening only, Apr to end Sep.

On the C2C Cycle route 200 yds north of Greystoke village green, direction Blencowe. We welcome all cyclists and walkers and ask all those with cars to walk the 350yds from the village car park around the Greystoke Castle walls.
We can offer parking in our driveway to cycle support vehicles and those attending our workshop days,

We have a ground floor toilet but not wide enough for wheelchair access.
