Located at the head of Borrowdale valley the Centre offers a multi-purpose venue for outdoor activities, team development, skills courses and much more. Our new activity building and training suite provides a superb facility for activities and skills courses whether you are staying with us or not.
Activities and skills courses are designed for all age ranges and abilities including beginners and are available to individuals, families or groups. They are led by experienced, qualified instructors and equipment is provided.
We are able to offer our services to individuals, families and groups staying in the Keswick and Buttermere areas. We include pick-ups and drop-offs and offer activities from half a day to multi-day programmes. The choice is yours!

From M6 jct 40, Penrith, follow signs to Keswick and west Cumbria, A66. Head into Keswick, at the mini roundabout take B5289, signposted Borrowdale, which leads you south besdie the lake, Derwentwater. go past the village of grange, on your right, and proceed through Rosthwaite, 7 miles from keswick, just before the village of Seatoller, find Glaramara Outdoor Centre on your right.

The nearest station is Penrith which lies on the west coast main line. Penrith is 25 miles from Glaramara and we can arrange transport from the station if required. trains run regularly from all over the country to Penrith station and from there regular bus services link to Keswick, X4 and X5 and then on to Borrowdale, 77, 77a and 79.

There are 3 major airports within 2 hours travel of the Glaramara Centre, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle.
