A 2-day weekend residential training course for those with experience of winter hill walking who want to develop their skills and try more challenging mountaineering routes. More technical than our Winter Skills course with a lower instructor/client ratio. We review essential winter skills eg ice axe/crampon and self-arrest. Also included, rope techniques and protecting a team on steep ground, winter navigation, mountain hazards eg avalanche risk and survival skills Cost includes professional instruction, loan of all technical equipment and full board accommodation.
