Honister Slate Mine - The Edge Tour
Do you measure up to The Edge? This tour is for the more adventurous, you will follow part of the original miners route out on the edge of Fleetwith Pike before going deep underground. Moving from level to level within the mountain you will see and hear the history, past and present, of Lake District life.
Warm clothing and appropriate footwear is recommended. Temperature is a constant 52F/11c, but remember this is the wettest place in England! The tour is subject to weather conditions. A minimum height restriction of 1m 30cm applies.
For your safety and security all visitors must report to reception before the tour. All prices include a £0.25p contribution to the Lake District Tourism and Conservation Partnership.
