Fishing

Free fishing is available on a short section of the River Irt at Holmrook. 

Anyone fishing for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels within England or Wales must hold a Rod Licence (available from post offices or on-line from the Environment Agency).  Anglers should also be aware of local bylaws on fishing.  For more information, visit www.environment-agency.gov.uk

Gosforth Pottery

Learn how to throw and decorate your own pot on a pottery course (week or weekend courses available).  Hour-long lessons on pot throwing are also available.  During school holidays the pottery runs daily drop-in sessions on painting pots (2.00-5.00). more details
