Brantwood

Located on the eastern shore of Coniston Water with spectacular views over the lake, Brantwood was the home of John Ruskin (19th century artist, writer, philosopher and social reformer) from 1872 to 1900. His interests and philosophical views about art and nature are apparent in the house and gardens, which are laid out to reflect his many interests and philosophies on life. Art and craft exhibitions, workshops, outdoor theatre and concert events, guided walks and family fun days.
