Cockermouth is a market town situated in the Western Lake District, just a 20 minute drive from Keswick. It is easily accessible from most parts of Cumbria and is a great location from which to explore the Western Lakes of Buttermere, Lorton and Crummock. Cockermouth has a good choice of hotels, most of which are located in the town centre within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. Allerdale Court Hotel is located in the old market place and the Trout Hotel on the banks of the River Cocker.
