The Watermill at Little Salkeld
Cumbria’s only fully operational watermill producing stoneground organic and biodynamic flours by water power. Visitors can see two overshot waterwheels, wooden and cast iron gearing and flour being milled the traditional way using French burr millstones. Milling a wider range of high quality and specialist flours. The tearoom is famous for its delicious wholefood, vegetarian cooking and baking – everything is made from organic ingredients, local where possible. Millshop sells a wide range of organic and biodynamic flours and groceries as well as books, craft pottery and knitwear.
Prices
£1 entry to mill. Mill tours, adult £3.50, children £1.50, family £8. Access to rest of site is free.
