Helvellyn
Helvellyn is the third highest mountain in the Lake District.
Ascent is usually either attempted from the east of the peak via a long, gentle climb beginning in the Thirlmere Valley or from the north of the peak. A more difficult climb is from the western side of the peak.
Helvellyn remains one of the most admired peaks in Britain and was apparently climbed by Wordsworth when he was 70 years old.
