Luck of Edenhall
The ‘Luck of Edenhall' is a 13th-century chalice of enamelled Syrian glass probably brought back from the Crusades and said to have talismanic properties - ‘If e'er this cup should break or fall, farewell the luck of Eden Hall.' Although the cup is still intact, and in safe custody at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the mansion of Edenhall was demolished in 1934.
Corby Castle
The 17th century landscaped grounds of Corby Castle include an impressive cascade with water gushing from the mouth of a mythological monster down a rocky staircase into a shady pool. The cascade is on private land but can be easily viewed from the footpath on the opposite bank of the river Eden.
