The internationally renowned cuisine at Sharrow Bay was created over fifty years ago by Francis Coulson. Today his proteges, Colin and Mark, together with their young and enthusiastic team, are developing their own individual style by combining traditional Sharrow style with the best of contemporary cuisine. The original "signature" Afternoon Tea is served daily at both the Main House and Bank House, on the shores of Ullswater.

Head over to Cockermouth, William Wordsworth birthplace, here you can sample a range of ales in the authentic Old Cooperage Bar at the famous Jennings Brewery. Discover how real ales are still brewed in the traditional way using pure Lakeland water drawn from the brewery's well.

Jennings Brewery

Jennings Brewery was originally established as a true family concern back in 1828, in the village or Lorton. The company moved to its current location in 1874, in the historic town of Cockermouth, in the shadow of Cockermouth Castle.

Winder Hall Country House Hotel near Buttermere is a historic manor house in the peaceful lakeland village of Low Lorton near Buttermere. Spend the night and sample home-cooking at it is best – everything from breads and cakes to jams and chutneys, ice cream and charcuterie. Apart from the chickens, pigs and small range of vegetables and herbs raised on the small-holding, most of the food is bought from small family-owned businesses, preferably living and working in Cumbria. A real taste of Cumbria!

Café Oswald's, our licensed restaurant, serves up a delicious Cumbrian inspired menu of home-made cakes, breakfasts and lunches daily.
