renewal of vows...
We are now offering renewal of marriage vows ceremonies. Why not celebrate your special day again? Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary, such as tenth, twenty-fifth etc but the ceremony is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of marriage. For example if you were married abroad, you can renew your marriage vows in a ceremony held for family and friends.
Your unique ceremony
The ceremony is put together by you! Just as no two married couples are the same, no two ceremonies to renew marriage vows will ever be the same. Special people in your lives can take part in your ceremony, your children, guests who were at your wedding and any friends and relatives. You will also need to ask two people to witness the signing of the certificate of the event.Venues
Venues that hold current fire and safety regulations and public liability insurance will be deemed suitable to hold a renewal of marriage vows ceremony. Please note however, that private homes are not considered suitable. A list of Register Offices and Approved Premises can be found under Wedding Venues on the Weddings home page.Important Notice
Neither the renewal of marriage vows ceremony nor any other document issued following the ceremony has any legal status. Whilst renewal of marriage vows ceremonies may be carried out in buildings known as Register Offices, they are designated as private venues during these ceremonies. Members of staff who are also know as Registrars, will be acting as celebrants, employees of Civil Ceremonies Limited when leading renewal of marriage vows ceremonies.
