Caving Venues

The UK has a unique variety of underground to trips to whet the appetite of everyone, from the beginner to the professional. From natural Limestone caves, to mines ranging from the extraction of stone to a wide range of metalliferous ores such as copper, lead, iron and tungstone.

The variety of countryside these are to be found in can be wide ranging too. From the North of England mines in the remote Northern Pennines to the Caves of South Wales and Dartmoor, Limestone is generally the country rock for both caving and mining, and the following pages hope to help you gain a wider understanding of the caves in the areas you may visit and maybe the venue we’ll be showing you.

Good caving!

Thanks Iain, We had a great weekend – we all learned a lot, enjoyed it and felt stretched without being scared which was fantastic. We’ll definitely give you a shout at some point about doing a rigging course.
