Ullswater Beer & Music Festival at King George V Playing Field
May 18th & 19th sees the first of what is hoped to be an annual Beer & Music Festival in the Ullswater Valley set up to raise funds for local "good causes". The event already has 35 different real ales and over 20 ciders and perries signed up, there are also 7 fantastic bands playing over the weekend.
The King George V playing field in Patterdale is an amazing location; Place Fell, Helvellyn and the shores of Ullswater frame the site on all sides with fantastic views. What better way to raise funds for a couple of local "good causes" than holding a beer & music festival in such an amazing setting?
We've tried to source as much of the festival as locally as we can, all of the real ales that we've selected are from Cumbrian brewers or those just over the border in neighbouring counties, the catering is from a local deer & dexter beef farm, sadly sourcing local cider and perry proved a little harder so we've chosen what we believe to be 20 of the best from some of the small scale producers up and down the country. The bands and musicians that are playing at this years event are some of the areas brightest and best, all in all we're hoping it should be an amazing weekend and we'll raise a bit of money for the local rescue team and nursery group.
The Ullswater Beer & Music Festival runs from 16.30 on Friday the 18th of May and 15.30 on Saturday the 19th. Tickets are available from Catstycam Outdoor Shops in Pooley Bridge and Glenridding along with Town Hall Treasures in Penrith. They can also be purchased via paypal from our website below where you'll find a listing of all the beers, ciders and perrys along with timing for each of the bands playing over the weekend.
