kendal college's culinary team to visit chicago's school of culinary arts...

Kendal College has a great Culinary team - if you need any proof just ask the guests at the fabulously located Storrs Hall near Windermere. They were dished up a superb five course menu - created, produced and served by the budding young stars in the Culinary team. The starter was a White onion soup with cayenne straws, followed by Smoked haddock and crab "Minestra". The meat course was a Poached fillet of beef, braised oxtail, fondant and carrot puree, followed by a trio of Lemon dishes, and to finish a Goats cheese plate. The dinner was held as one of the money raising events for the students' trip to the similarly named Kendall College in Chicago, acclaimed for its School of Culinary Arts.

The Culinary team are busy using their skills to raise the funds to make the trip. At one recent event, attended by 70 people, the team served fantastic canapés and the Auction of Promises raised around £4000 for their cause. A number of the Promises will entail various members of the team buying, cooking and serving fantastic quality food in the comfort of the successful bidders' own homes. The team is hungry for success and many of its members are already established in some of the Lake District's finest kitchens. They are the young culinary stars of the future.

The Culinary team consists of Martin Frickel, Matt Campbell, Elaine Stokes, Ian Mitchell, Antony Amos, Andrew Posthlewaite, Laura Bertrem, Grace Walker, Claire Laughton, Peter Kennon, Mark Satterthwaite and Ben Wilkinson.
