We have a wide range of outdoor courses to suit everyone, whether you are a complete novice or expert! We can lead you through the transition from climbing indoors to the great outdoors or improve your climbing skills if you already have experience.

Real Rock Skills - Outdoor Courses
Kendal is situated in the Lake District, Cumbria being superbly placed to access some of the finest climbing in Britain, of all grades. Our outdoor courses are detailed below. Note that the minimum age for outdoor courses is 18, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Taster Days
A great introduction to climbing outdoors. No prior climbing experience needed.

Introduction to Climbing Outdoors
A more in depth look at climbing outdoors. A great introduction to climbing outdoors.

Rock Improvers
This is the obvious next step, leading on from our Introductory Course, or for those people with a basic level of climbing experience.

Private Instruction
If you have specific objectives or just want to go at your own pace without the pressure of others then Private Instruction may be for you.

World class climbing centre with the tallest indoor climbing wall in the country at 24.5 m, awesome bouldering rooms, Chamber and Den areas ideal for beginners, kids and families. Offering a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, sessions and courses to suit everyone, whether you are a complete beginner or expert climber. If you have never climbed before we can arrange a FREE have a go session (held on Saturday mornings between 10 - 11 am) or taster session for you from as little as £12 for 1.5 hour session (ages 8 years to adult). We have weekend clubs for children of all abilities and experience levels (6 - 17 years - from as little as £10) and family tasters sessions which are held at set times throughout the school holidays. Our most popular sessions are privately instructed sessions where you are able to book an instructor for you and your family and friends eg. Private 1 hour session based on 2 adults and 2 children would be £56 including FREE hire of all the necessary equipment. Small and large groups catered for offering sessions for school groups, birthday parties, corporate and team building events, stag and hen parties etc. Superb conference and meetings rooms, café, training room, party room, changing and shower facilities, retail shop available on site stocking one of the largest ranges of rock shoes in Cumbria.
