The quiet roads and country lanes lend themselves fantastically to long distance road riding, taking you around the region on a multi-day tour. The Mountain biking in the area is world class. Why Year of Adventure?
Every year in Cumbria can be as adventurous as you make it, so why is 2008 the year of adventure? Along with other North West regions Cumbria is supporting Liverpool's Capital of Culture status in 2008, by having its own "year of". Manchester will be hosting ‘Year of Sport', Cheshire ‘Year of Gardens' and Lancashire ‘Year of Food'
