Buddhist Temple at Conishead Priory and Buddhist Temple
The modern Temple for World Peace provides a place for quiet reflection and spiritual inspiration. It is used every day for meditation and prayers.
The design is a representation of Buddha's Pure Land and contains holy precious objects revealing the path to liberation and enlightenment. The centrepiece is a large statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Each year thousands of people visit the Temple to admire its artistic and architectural features and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. 'Just looking at the Temple with a happy mind brings inner peace' Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

We have been hosting Group visits for many years. People come to see the World Peace Temple, learn about the spiritual life of the Buddhists who live here, and view the historic House in its beautiful parkland setting.
You will spend 1½ hours with our Tour Guide. The guided tour starts with watching a DVD of the history of Conishead followed by viewing the historic features of part of the House.
You can have Tea / Coffee and Cakes at a reasonable price either before or after the tour, and can bring a packed lunch to eat with your refreshments if you wish. Group teas are served separately from our normal Café service. Tables are reserved for you so you can sit down, without having to queue, and we will serve you.
