Route Overview
Wainwright described this part of the route as 'a walk in heaven'. You will be on higher terrain here and cover a number of the Lakeland Fells before reaching Grasmere, beloved village of artists and poets. This is a good place for an overnight stop if you don't want to complete the route in one day! If you're feeling energetic carry on to Grizedale to take in Grizedale tarn and the Helvellyn range, before choosing your route to Patterdale.
