All activities need to be pre- booked to ensure there is a suitably qualified instructor for you so full instructions including directions to a meeting point, what to expect from the activity and the venue and what to wear .are sent to you in advance. Some venues have free parking and toilets others you will need to use pay and display car parks, some have free parking for National Trust members, others are local authority. We use a number of venues around the Lake District to allow for the nature of different activities. (NB no activities take place at the admin office address), The locations for climbing, caving, canoeing, ghyll scrambling, mountaineering are dictated by the needs of the activity. Other activities like shooting, quad biking, hawk walk and bushcraft need specialist areas away from public areas/footpaths.

We can suggest activities or venues which will minimise your travel, most activities are available within 20-30mins drive of any central lakes village and the longest journey we would suggest for more remote activities would be an hour.

Some activity venues have free parking or are free for National Trust members others you will need to use public pay and display car parks. We will advise of facilities and costs where possible on booking. Disabled facilities – please talk to us about your specific requirements so we can advise accordingly.

All activities need to be pre- booked to ensure there is a suitably qualified instructor and sufficient equipment for you; full instructions including directions to a meeting point, what to expect from the activity, what to wear are sent to you in advance.

The office location is for admin only. It is in a rural location and does not have the facility for visitors as it requires driving along a private road/track through a working farm.
