The Adidas TERREX Adventure Race: 27 - 30 August 2010
A 4 day, 400km non-stop expedition race across Cumbria packed with challenges and a spectacular journey through the Lake District, taking in the best that this mountainous environment can offer. Teams can expect to traverse the fells by foot, swoop down the area's best single track on a mountain bike and to paddle across the vast lakes - not to mention a few hidden surprises to keep the team on their toes. It is sure to be a true test of each athlete's mental and physical stamina.

The British Gas Great North Swim: 4 & 5 September 2010
The 2010 British Gas Great North Swim is now full with places selling out in just 6 weeks! 7,000 people will take part in the swim over two days in September. Some of the world's top swimmers will be joined by people of all ages and abilities to complete the one mile swim set in some of the most stunning scenery in the country.
