“Excellent accommodation & a warm welcome.”

We stayed one night en route to Scotland, having travelled from Suffolk via Chester for family reasons.

The room though small had all we needed, including kettle, tissues & bottled water. There were two windows which kept it cool on a warm night, though a cooler tog duvet would have been nice. Everything was spotlessly clean apart from one pair of towels that smelled a bit sour. The bathroom was well thought out & everything worked properly.

We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Phil went out specially to buy skimmed milk for our breakfast cereal. And he found room in his freezer for our cold blocks, so that we could shop for groceries in Penrith & drive up to Scotland without the food going off.

The guest house website featured recommended restaurants and we used it to choose and book our Friday night dinner in advance. The restaurant was very good and just as described.

Breakfast was delicious and we left much refreshed and would definitely stay there again.
