“Good B&B for active couples who don't mind walking”

Laurel bank is approx 20 min walk from Keswick town centre via either the railway walk and local park or the relatively narrow footpath alongside the main road. The railway walk is pleasant in dry weather but can get muddy with puddles when wet. Finding the swing gate to the park can be difficult as it's located in the cul-de-sac behind the leisure pool at the end of the railway path. If you are fit and enjoy walking it's a pleasant way get into Keswick without the car, especially if you want to enjoy the local ales, wines and spirits and great dining out opportunities. Local taxis provide a good service and are reasonably priced.
The B&B itself has most of it's rooms on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor, so this may be important if you find stairs a problem. The 3rd floor rooms themselves are a little tight for space, but well appointed and cleaned every day.
There is sufficient space at the rear of the property for guest parking.
Highlight of the B&B is without doubt the excellent breakfasts. Ronald and Margaret provide a friendly, inviting and helpful service as well as lots of information about local events, attractions and walks.
