The original buildings at Ravenstone Lodge were built circa 1861. The hotel is situated at the foot of Skiddaw in its own 5 acres of spectacular Lake District countryside with splendid views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the north western fells. You will find us on the A591 just 5 miles north of Keswick, a small market town having many interesting shops, restaurants and its own celebrated Theatre by the Lake. We are easily accessible to the M6 motorway and all routes to Scotland.

The Lodge continues to demonstrate some of its original features and usage from the Victorian days, when it was the Coach House to the "big house" over the road! The Stable Bar still retains the original stable stalls complete with mangers, the hay shoot and ladder to the hay loft! The Coach House Restaurant is appropriately named given its former use and indeed sitting in front of the open fire and looking out of the windows one can imagine past times. James, our Head Chef, prepares the menus on a daily basis for both the Coach House Restaurant and The Stable Bar Bistro, using the finest local produces available. Having enjoyed your evening meal, you may like to relax, admire the views and enjoy a "digestif" in the conservatory, or perhaps sit out on the terrace and take in the atmosphere of the surrounding fells. Each of our 9 bedrooms is comfortably furnished and en suite.

    “Relaxing and well looked after”

Service efficient, friendly yet unobtrusive. Room was on the small side but clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were lovely. Would definitely stay again.
