The Daffodil Hotel & Spa has elegantly decorated bedrooms inclusive of 13 suites, most of which have a valley or lake view, function facilities catering for up to 250 covers, offering seasonal British cuisine using locally produced products where possible. The Walkers Bar is open daily for lunch and early evening meals, along with a wide range of classic drinks and cocktails, with a G&T hour everyday where you can choose from 13 different gins.
Why not start your day by visiting Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy, within a short walk from the hotel you find yourself in the centre of Grasmere village where you can browse around its many shops and sample the famous Sarah Nelson Gingerbread or wander through St Oswald's Churchyard which contains the Wordsworth family graves. For those who are feeling a little more energetic, why not take a stroll up Helm Crag, known locally as the Lion and the Lamb, featured in one of many Wainwrights Walks.
A perfect way to end your day spent on the beautiful fells and shopping, is to enjoy the Spa at the Daffodil where you will fall into luxurious haven of tranquility and relaxation. The Spa offers an extensive range of spa treatments and skin care products from Germaine de Cappuccini.

How to get there:
By rail: From the West Coast Main Line, change at Oxenholme for Windermere. From Windermere, take one of the many buses 555/556 or 599. Taxis are readily available from Windermere train station. The jouney is about seven miles.
By road: Situated on the A591, Grasmere is easily accessible from the M6 motorway, exiting at jct 36.
The A591
The section of this road from Windermere to Keswick via Ambleside and Grasmere has been rightly voted by a popular motoring section as the most scenic in the country. It runs alongside Lake Windermere, Rydal Water, Grasmere, over Dunmail Raise with Helvellyn on one side and Thirlmere on the other, the magnificent views toward St Johns in the Vale and Blencathra and finally to the panorama of Derwentwater as you begin the descent to Keswick.
Kirkstone Pass
Take the A591 from Grasmere to the mini-roundabout on the outskirts of Ambleside and its exit leading to the highest pass open to traffic in the Lake District where some sections have a gradient of 1 in 4. Wordsworth wrote "it is most potent when mists veil the sky". Apparently this steep winding road, originally a drovers track, was named so after a large stone landmark on the roadside which from some angles resembles a church steeple, hence "Kirkstone".
