Tarnside Farmhouse is located in the beautiful Lyth Valley, 5 miles from Lake Windermere. Guests enjoy private facilities including sitting room (wood burner, wifi, tea/coffee) and breakfast room. Private parking. Non smoking.

This charming 18th century Lakeland farmhouse offers guests a quiet, rural, secluded location yet is only 5 miles from the shore of Lake Windermere and Bowness with its host of tourist attractions. Guests have use of a private sitting room with large colour tv and wifi connection as well as a cosy wood-burning stove. A charming private breakfast room overlooks the garden. Cyclists are welcome (secure overnight storage available) and delightful walking is available immediately from the doorstep. With the renowned Punchbowl Inn within a mile, as well as the Hare and Hounds, the Masons Arms and the Brown Horse all close by, you need never be short of characterful pubs and fine dining.

Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle are within 15 minutes drive and Cartmel with its Priory and nearby Holker Hall are also in easy reach.

A short climb up Gummers How just a few miles away will reward you with spectacular views over Lake Windermere towards the Lakeland fells, including Langdales, Coniston, Old Man and Wetherlam, Fairfield Horseshow, Helvellyn and beyond.

From the M6 take jct 36 left onto A590 for approximately 3 miles then exit left onto the A590 (Barrow). After 2 miles take a right turn onto the A5074 signed Bowness and Windermere. Continue for 5 miles passing the Lyth Valley Hotel, Tarnside Farm is on the right.

From Bowness take the A5074, continue for approximately 5 miles passing through Winster. Tarnside Farm is on the left at the bottom of a dip, 0.5 mile past the Damson Dene Hotel.
