In hills west of Ullswater, 1.5 miles to lake, 3 miles to Pooley bridge, 9 miles to Glenridding. Facilities close by for sailing, canoeing, wind surfing, mountain biking, fishing, pony trekking, fell walking, climbing etc. Lovely walking from door. Lots of good pubs for food within a 5 mile radius. Good base for hill walking or touring lakes and Eden valley. Aira Force waterfalls on Gowbarrow of Wordsworth's Daffodils fame is an 8 mile circular walk from here. Children welcome from any age.
