Two excellent cottages by farm and stream in Bassenthwaite village. Country lanes and mountains, children's play area in idyllic location. Local inn. A great place to unwind.
Puddle Duck Cottages. Firstly, Jemima Puddle Duck's Cottage is an excellent, spacious, 2-bedroom cottage with cosy log fire. Ducks waddle by the cottage to the farmyard and stream. Secondly, The Loft, Rebecca Puddle Duck's Cottage, is an unusual reverse-style barn conversion for 2/3 with chunky beams and views of Skiddaw and also overlooking the farmyard. All inclusive price. Many return bookings.
Short breaks off-peak are available, arrival times by arrangement. Laundry and drying room.

Excellent climbing and walking from the doorstep, nearest mountain is Skiddaw. Golf 4 miles. Leisure club day pass at hotel, 1 mile. Swimming pool in Keswick, 6 miles. Animal farm 1 mile. Children welcome from any age.
