    “Walking weekend ”

During our stay The Rosemount Guest house, we were incredibly well attended to: both Andrew and Louise were very keen to help us out with planning activities etc. and making sure we had everything we could possibly need. Andrew even printed out a selection of walking suggestions and lent us his map for a few days. Louise recommended a lot of local walks and places to eat and drink, and as a result we had some really nice evenings around the town as well as big days out further afield. The room itself was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and gorgeous bathroom (especially the waterfall shower). It was equipped with a TV with a DVD player and a selection of DVDs to borrow from downstairs.
As Rosemount guests, we were also allowed to make use of the facilities at the Macdonald hotel down the road. This consisted of an indoor pool overlooking the lake, as well as a sauna and steam room.
The location is very good, as it is just a short walk from both Windermere and Bowness. From Bowness, there are ferries going across the lake as well as north towards Ambleside. We made use of both of these journeys when we went walking and exploring to Hawkshead, Ambleside, and Wansfell Pike (a walk recommended by Andrew which proved to be very enjoyable). Louise also pointed out a nearby viewpoint called Orrest Head, where we went on our final day and the views of the lake and fells were stunning from here.
Overall, we had a really wonderful stay, and Rosemount was the perfect place to stay for it: extremely helpful staff, lovely rooms, delicious breakfast, and a great location!
