We provide welcoming comfortable accommodation for guests on holiday, business, starting the C2C, birdwatching/nature spotting at St Bees and Bassenthwaite, visiting Rosehill theatre or any of the many other local attractions to be found in Cumbria. Families are welcome as we have a small room with bunkbeds adjacent to an en suite room with king-size bed. The garden is large and safe with swings, slide and sandpit plus resident owls in their avairies. we are visited daily by a large number of wild birds and buzzards can frequently be seen overhead. There are walks nearby including a footpath to the local restaurnat/public house. Nearby Whitehaven has all town facilities and churches of most denominations. Guests are welcome to arrive at any reasonable time by arrangement, parking is safe and secure and the rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, min-fridge, TV and DVD player. Hairdryers and ironing facilities are available on request. we welcome cyclists and motorcyclists.

Although Chestnuts is in a small village it is 2 miles from Whitehaven which has a sports centre with gym. we are also within 2 miles of a golf club with floodlit driving range and also the local swimming pool. We have facilities for babies and children and can cater for vegetarians and food allergies by prior arrangement. All bedrooms are upstairs. Children welcome from any age.

Low Moresby is signposted from A595, 2 miles north of Whitehaven and is approximately 1 mile from A595. After leaving A595 keep bearing left into village where you will see a small triangular village green with noticeboard, bench and postbox. Turn left at village green onto country lane and continue to the end where you bear left. Chestnuts is 100yds down lane on the right, where a carved wooden bear is holding a Chestnuts sign. Whitehaven has a train station on the Carlisle to Barrow line and taxis wait for trains, cost £5. There is a limited bus service into the village from Whitehaven, ring for times and buses run frequesntly on the A595 with a 10-minute walk to the village. Trains and buses can be met by arrangement.
