Details

John Harle returns to Ulverston after his spectacular concert in 2015. Featuring new works written for John in his 60th birthday year, the concert is a unique opportunity to hear music by some of the most influential composers of today, by the master of the saxophone at the peak of his powers.

John Harle is an Ivor Novello award-winning saxophonist, composer,and record producer, whose work spans across musical genres from classical to contemporary pop.

John will perform with virtuoso pianist Steve Lodder, pianist described as “a musical thinker of erudition and depth” by
The Guardian.

Making a guest appearance is Jess Gillam, 18 year old saxophonist from Ulverston. Mentored by John Harle, Jess was the first ever saxophonist to reach the Final of BBC Young Musician of the Year.

Directions

On entering Ulverston from the A590, drive straight on past Booths supermarket on your left and through a set of pelican traffic lights. At the next roundabout take the fourth exit onto Brewery Street. Turn left into the Brewery Street car park. Walk up Market Street and turn left up Brogden Street. At the top of the street turn right and then first left, and the Coronation Hall is situated behind the statue of Laurel and Hardy on County Square.

Less than a mile from Ulverston Station.
