Make marvellous messenger bags

Make marvellous messenger bags

Details

Make a large, fully lined cross body 'Messenger Bag' with a piped flap closure.

Participants will need a metre of both outer fabric (heavy weight, curtain fabric is good, heavy linen) and lining fabric (quilt weight cotton or cotton lawn). For contrasting piping a fat quarter of a contrasting fabric is needed, otherwise we can use the outer fabric. Matching thread, fabric scissors, pins, ruler and a hand sewing needle also useful. You should also have a zipper foot for your sewing machine in addition to a regular foot. Emma can show you how to change the feet if you are not sure!

Emma will provide the interfacing, interlining and piping cord. The strap hardware and magnetic strap will cost an additional £7.50 per person payable directly to Emma on the day.
