Make a Needlefelt Hare Doorstop

Make a Needlefelt Hare Doorstop

Make a lovely 14" high 'doorstop' Hare in a choice, of either soft brown fibres or blended Herdwick greys, with a clever 'sand filled inside' so making a proper working doorstop.

This type of felt is produced by locking the wool together through repeatedly stabbing it with your needle, it sounds complicated but can easily be learned and some beautiful pieces can be created in this way.

Annis will arrive with everything you need to create and learn to carefully needle felt the soft blended wool mix into a soft but heavy door stop approx 14" high. She is a highly accomplished needle felter and her work is for sale in local galleries in Cumbria.

75.00 incl a lovey 2 course Aga lunch, hot drinks and home baking. There will be an additional charge of £15 payable on the day to Annis for the materials used. This covers not only the costs of materials but also the many hours that Annis spends preparing each doorstop inner so that it is ready to be needle felted meaning a doorstop can be achieved in just one day. Each item takes quite a while.
