Details

Leather worker Ruth Pullan specialises in creating hand stitched bags and accessories using high quality British materials.

Join her for this workshop which will give you the basic skills needed for leatherwork. Using these skills you will make a belt and a simple coin purse or a small leather bag.

You will learn how to:
- dye and condition natural vegetable tanned leather .......... stitch using the two needle traditional saddler's stitch
- bevel and burnish raw edges for a professional finish .......................... fit buckles and fastenings.

The Cycle Cafe is a family-run tea garden with unusual opening times. Fri 12.00 to 18.00. Sat 10.00 to 18.00 and the second Sun of the month 10.00 to 18.00. We will serve any cyclists at other times with whatever we have, if of course we are about and available. Seasonal opening only, Apr to end Sep.

Directions

On the C2C Cycle route 200 yds north of Greystoke village green, direction Blencowe. We welcome all cyclists and walkers and ask all those with cars to walk the 350yds from the village car park around the Greystoke Castle walls.
We can offer parking in our driveway to cycle support vehicles and those attending our workshop days,
Bus links to Penrith and Keswick. Penrith railway station 5 miles
