Gorge & Ghyll Scrambling at Destination Cumbria
The most popular get wet activity in the Lake District. Gorge scrambling (gill, ghyll) scrambling is making your way up one of the many Lake District streams, climbing waterfalls, wading pools and then jumping back down the best ones.
You are going in the opposite direction to canyoning.
There are trips for all ages and abilities with minimum age depending on the attitude of the children.
Wet and dry scrambles, ranging in challenge from Grade 1, suitable for kids, to grade 3, adults only.
Trips depart from Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick and Coniston.
There are now more than 10 scrambles to try with more becoming available as Destination Cumbria challenges the operators to come up with trips for those that have been before.
Prices of trips indicate the amount and quality of the equipment you are provided with for your trip.
Prices
Prices range from £25 - £50 per person for a half day and £55 - £80 for a full day. Group prices on application.
