During Christian Aid week, St Mary’s church and Threlkeld Activities Association are pleased to host a ceilidh in aid of the charity at Threlkeld Village Hall.
Music will be provided by The Travelling Light Ceilidh band. The band has been together for 22 years, originally formed to perform one ceilidh in aid of clean water in Nepal, the concept snowballed and they have been performing ceilidhs ever since. Their fees continue to support health issues in Nepal and more than £40,000 has been raised over the years.
The band format includes up to 12 musicians playing keyboard, guitar, flute, recorder, bodhran, violin, banjo and concertina plus a caller. Come along and enjoy the music and atmosphere and, of course, the dancing. The excellent dance caller means no experience is necessary!
