The Staveley Carnival has gained national recognition with The Times describing it as one of Britain's most inspiring community events. The fuel-free procession featuring costumes made from recycled materials dances through the streets of Staveley in four awe-inspiring seas of colour to the infectious rhythm of carnival bands. This will be followed by a village fete containing stalls, live music, fairground, BBQ, food and bar.
"A fantastic fusion of community arts, music, drumming, dance, puppetry, performance and carnival."
Staveley Carnival also encompasses a two-month programme of workshops that culminate in the weekend of carnival festivities which celebrate the achievements of all involved and provide an inspiring festival of community events.
