Details

Stanley House is in the stunning Eskdale Valley, in the Western Lake District, just below Hardknott Pass and not far from Cumbria’s beautiful coastline.
We offer a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and a B&B experience with a bit more freedom. It’s also ideal for those who like the flexibility and independence of self-catering accommodation but who don’t want to be tied to a week-long stay.
Our 12 en-suite rooms are all spacious and furnished to a high standard, with lovely views of our private gardens or the gentle steam trains of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. All our bedrooms can be prepared as double or twin beds, perfect for groups. We have two family suites available and extra beds or travel cots can be provided. Dogs are welcome in half our rooms on one floor of the building. (We even offer special dog friendly breaks.)
And you’re not confined to your room at Stanley House as we have two comfortable sitting rooms where you are encouraged to make yourself at home. You’re free to hang around the house all day if you choose, relaxing on cosy sofas in front of our real fires.
Every morning, a brilliant breakfast is served for you but then you’re welcome to make your own snacks and meals during the day, with use of the kitchen and our well stocked larder full of ‘basic essentials’ - ideal for a late night snack, the mid-afternoon munchies and for those travelling with children.
If you’d prefer to avoid any cooking, Stanley House is within easy walking distance of some fine Inns in Boot or Eskdale Green. Our own sister property, The Woolpack Inn, is nearby and serves food all day. In the evenings, they’ll even deliver pizzas (made in the wood fired oven) to guests at Stanley House.
