Egremont
Egremont is a traditional market town in the centre of the Western Lake District. Whilst there, discover Egremont's treasures: the illuminated Norman Castle and grounds with it's literary connection to Wordsworth's Ballad of the Horn of Egremont: Lowes Court Gallery and Tourist Information Centre holding exhibitions of Cumbrian artists and local crafts; leisure walks and rides that take in the river Ehen, Clintz quarry, with its rare orchids and the superb wheelchair friendly Longlands Lake.
Egremont, historically a mining community and home to the famous Crab Fair and Hartley's ice cream is a Fairtrade town and a great place to shop. The monthly farmers market and shops sell locally produced and sourced foods such as unique Cumberland sausages, dairy, bakery, vegetables, plants and local crafts.

From Carlisle take the A595 to Cockermouth, go through Cockermouth heading for Egremont. From Penrith, take the A66 towards Keswick, then onto Cockermouth. Turn left at the main roundabout, signposted A5086 to Egremont.
