Details

The Celebration of the Solway Art Exhibition takes place every five years. The 2016 Exhibition will be the fifth held so far.

The Exhibition showcases the work of artists depicting the Solway area - both English and Scottish - its coastline and countryside, towns and villages, providing an opportunity to view this wonderfully scenic area through the eyes of artists. We are approaching sixty artists taking part, including well-known local painters George McVittie, Serena Charters, Jennifer Taylor, Pat Porter, June Barnes, David Wardle and Clive & Chrissie Wylie.

All the paintings are for sale. Visitors come not only from the immediate locality but from Cumbria as a whole and also very much further afield.

The 2016 Exhibition will also feature a joint display by the Solway Flower Club and Solway Gardening Society and a range of high quality local craft stalls - including jewellery, china, cakes, a basket maker and also stalls with general subject paintings by artists taking part in the Exhibition. Cream teas will be served throughout the event.
